Diagnose

Find where your method breaks

Upload Your Work

Take a photo of your handwritten work or upload an image. Cognifiy reads your steps—not just the final answer.

Step-Level Analysis

The system parses each step of your solution and compares it against valid solution paths. When it finds a deviation, it identifies:

  • Concept errors: Fundamental misunderstandings (e.g., wrong formula application)
  • Procedural errors: Correct concept, wrong execution sequence
  • Arithmetic slips: Calculation mistakes
  • Misapplied rules: Using the right rule in the wrong context

Error-to-Concept Mapping

Each error is mapped to a specific topic gap. For example, an incorrect factorization might reveal a gap in "common factor extraction" or "sign rules in multiplication."

Confidence scoring: If the system isn't certain about the diagnosis, it asks for clarification or regenerates—no guessing.

Repair

Target the actual weakness

Targeted Practice Generation

Once a gap is identified, Cognifiy generates practice questions specifically for that concept—not random drilling across the whole topic.

Foundation Repair (Tutor Mode)

For persistent gaps, the system provides structured lessons:

  • 5–8 step explanations with interactive confirmation
  • Diagnostic questions to verify understanding
  • Clarification when confusion is detected

This isn't a chatbot—it's a structured repair flow that prevents superficial practice on broken fundamentals.

Weak Areas Dashboard

Your identified weak areas are tracked in a dashboard. Topics with recurring errors get priority. The system learns what you struggle with over time.

Cost-efficient processing: Questions are graded locally when possible. AI is only triggered for wrong answers or when explanations are needed.

Retain

Make knowledge stick

Mastery Detection

The system tracks multiple signals to determine mastery:

  • Consecutive correct answers
  • Reduced solve time
  • Consistent performance (low variance)
  • Confidence scores from the system

Spaced Repetition

After you master a topic, Cognifiy schedules reviews at optimal intervals:

  • First review: 3 days later
  • Second review: 3 weeks later
  • Final reinforcement: Before key dates (if set)

If performance drops during a review, the topic returns to active practice automatically.

Progress Tracking

Your mastery percentage, confidence score, and error trends are tracked per topic. Watch your weak areas turn into strengths over time.
