By using Cognifiy ("the Service"), you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Cognifiy, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Cognifiy is an adaptive learning platform that:

  • Analyzes uploaded student work to identify errors
  • Provides step-by-step diagnosis of mistakes
  • Generates targeted practice based on identified weaknesses
  • Tracks mastery and schedules spaced repetition reviews

3. Account Registration

To use Cognifiy, you must:

  • Provide accurate registration information
  • Maintain the security of your password
  • Accept responsibility for all activity under your account
  • Be at least 13 years old (or have parental consent)

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Upload content that violates any law or third-party rights
  • Attempt to access other users' accounts or data
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service
  • Use automated means to access the Service without permission
  • Upload malicious files or attempt to exploit vulnerabilities
  • Use the Service for commercial purposes without authorization

5. Content You Upload

When you upload content to Cognifiy:

  • You retain ownership of your original content
  • You grant us a license to process, analyze, and store it for service delivery
  • You confirm you have the right to upload the content
  • You understand content may be processed by AI systems

6. AI-Generated Content

Cognifiy uses AI to analyze work and generate explanations. You acknowledge that:

  • AI-generated content may contain errors
  • The Service provides learning support, not guaranteed accuracy
  • You should verify important information independently
  • Confidence scores indicate system certainty, not correctness

7. Service Availability

We strive for high availability but do not guarantee:

  • Uninterrupted access to the Service
  • Error-free operation
  • Preservation of all data in case of system failure

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features with reasonable notice.

8. Payment Terms

If you purchase a paid plan:

  • Prices are as displayed at time of purchase
  • Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled
  • Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis
  • We may change pricing with 30 days notice

9. Intellectual Property

Cognifiy and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not:

  • Copy or modify the Service
  • Create derivative works
  • Reverse engineer any part of the Service
  • Use our trademarks without permission

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • The Service is provided "as is" without warranties
  • We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
  • Our total liability is limited to fees paid in the preceding 12 months

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these terms.

12. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account for violations of these terms. You may delete your account at any time through account settings or by contacting us.

13. Changes to Terms
